Renaissance Women explores the music of historical women composers, along with works by the famous male composers who dominated their eras, demonstrating unequivocally that these women are every bit as talented, extraordinary, and deserving of hearing as the more male composers we all know and love.
Featured composers include Kassia, Hildegard von Bingen, composers of sacred chant; Caterina Assandra, a contemporary of Claudio Monteverdi; Marianna Martines, duet-partner to Mozart; Imogen Holst, daughter of Gustav Holst; and others.
