SoCal Swordfight 2022

SoCal Swordfight, North America’s biggest Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) tournament, will return from a pandemic hiatus on February 18-20, 2022 in Long Beach, California.

The 2022 event is expected to exceed the size of the last event, in 2020, which attracted over 300 participants from around the U.S. and internationally.
The upcoming tournament will feature well-known instructors and fighters including Rob Childs (#1 worldwide in rapier), Jeremy Pace (#5 worldwide in longsword), and Luke LaFontaine (a Hollywood stunt choreographer).
For the first time, the event will also include a class on sword fighting on horseback featuring expert Jack Gassmann.
SoCal Swordfight 2022 will offer 11 individual tournaments, including synthetic and steel longsword, women’s longsword (the largest women’s tournament at any U.S. event), rapier, saber, and cutting; over 50 classes covering different weapons, movement, martial arts mentality, and more; the opportunity to test and purchase a variety of HEMA gear; and the chance to meet, spar with, and learn from HEMA participants around the world.
