The Battle of Nechtansmere webinar
King Ecgfrith of Northumbria famously met his death at the hands of Picts in the Battle of Nechtansmere in 685. Originally thought to have taken place in Fife, this event is now located further north, near Inverness. In this webinar, we will look at records of the battle, the arguments for its location, and the historical background that makes it such a significant event in early medieval insular history.
