Excellent news for the new year!
With the help of the Creative Community Festival Funding, Ohura Medieval Day is able to run again after a hiatus due to COVID.
Fighters from around the country are cleaning their swords, polishing their armour and practicing their battle cries.
With 20 fighters attending this year the clash will be varied and exciting.
See favourites battle favourites, brother vs brother and team vs team.
We are excited to open the registrations for stalls and attractions as well as anyone who wants display their arts and crafting skills.
Carpenters bring your saws and chisels, blacksmiths bring your forges and hammers, painters bring your brushes and easels and show the people how you create your works.
The event will be on Saturday March 2nd 2024 from 10-3pm, at the Ohura Rugby Grounds.
This is just off the Main Street of Ohura and we are looking forward to showing all our visitors to the town the glow up we’ve recently received from Council.
Our roads are freshly paved, cleaned, and the lawns are clipped.
The community garden is in full bloom and the cossie’s drinks are cold.
We have also happily been able to book the Taumarunui bouncy castles and I’m told the Dragon will come out to play!
There will be free kids games, drawing tables, stalls, food, music, of course the fighting and the coconut shy no doubt.
Stay for chips and a drink at the local and experience the peaceful valley of Ohura.
