The first craftsmen and merchants arrive the first days of the week (prelude). The market activities culminate on Saturday and Sunday.

1300 years ago, the marketplace by Ribe Å was a really exciting place of enormous importance. Vikings and other good people came from far and wide to shop and exchange goods right here.

The market, which was known all over the world, attracted the most skilled craftsmen. The place buzzed with life, and it was actually such that the city of Ribe emerged.

In the Viking market, you can experience an incomparable market atmosphere. It smells of smoke, food and horses, and the wind carries the sound of foreign tongues and roaring Vikings across the square.

Meet real Vikings and make a good bargain at the stalls. Get close to the Icelandic horses, shoot at the target with the longbow and stand in the front row for the wildest warrior shows.
